Very little! You can use the in-place advisor editing feature of SMARTASSISTANT. Just select the element you would like to translate, define the source and the target languages, and translate the element.

If you need to translate multiple elements in several advisors, you can export the advisor content in the XLIFF format (XML Localisation Interchange File Format), an XML-based format, to translate the elements with a translation software. The translated XLIFF files can then be uploaded back to SMARTASSISTANT.

What languages are supported?

Do I need to have technical knowledge to create a digital advisor?

How frequently can we update stock information, prices, etc?

This depends on your requirements. Most companies configure SMARTASSISTANT to update the product data feed every hour.

However, if your prices and stock information change more frequently than that, you can reduce the interval to 10 minutes.

Can SMARTASSISTANT remember user sessions?

By default, SMARTASSISTANT sessions are persisted for 30 minutes.

This means that returning users can pick up where they left off, even if they close their browser window. In the Personalization package this duration can be extended up to 2 months.

How can I connect my product data?

In the SMARTASSISTANT backend, you can choose to either manually upload you CSV data feed or configure a data fetcher which will automatically retrieve your product data from a defined location, e.g. via HTTP, FTP, Dropbox, Google Drive etc.

Through our data services, we also offer custom configurations that retrieve data from web services (REST/JSON, SOAP) in different formats (XML, JSON, Excel, compressed) and accessed through different protocols (HTTP(S), FTP, SFTP, FTPS, ...)

Can we track purchases?


When a shopper clicks on a product in a your advisor, the SKU of that product is stored in a cookie. Whenever the user decides to purchase the product, SMARTASSISTANT checks to see if the SKU of the product being bought matches the SKUs of the products stored in the cookie, and we can attribute this conversion to the usage of the digital advisor.

Sure, you can use videos and audio in your advisors.

However, while SMARTASSISTANT hosts the images in your advisor, you will need to host the videos on a different server.
